Fistula guestions

I was first diagnosed with a fistula in fall 2010. Had a fistulatomy? deal where they make a big hole that heals from
the inside out. It was never right. Took months. I did everything asked to keep it clean.
Had a clean out surgery a few months later. It did not heal either. Then another
fistula came from the other side and I found the reason the first one did not heal was because it was a horseshoe fistula.
Had surgery for that with a non cutting seton last june 2011. The doc thought all was well, but it has never healed. Keeps healing over,
then bursting every couple of weeks. Every time I go to the doc it is when it is inactive. Last Dec she ordered a MRI.
She said I had "Canals" but no active fistula. However, it still has not healed. When it bursts it is mostly blood and
a watery fluid. It is not a mucus like as when it was a fistula. However, both sides still burst. Mostly, it is the one side
that does it most. It burst and drains for a few days, then heals over for a week or two (giving me false hope). Then
it starts all over. Anyone else had this?

Sound familiar. My surgeon was a specialist however she is pretty new.
