Joint pain disappeared and now Im flaring!!

I posted previously asking about osteoarthritis as I was having severe knee pain. Since yesterday, it disappeared and was replaced by a flare up. I have low grade fever, persistent D despite taking Imodium, severe abdominal pain, fatigue and loss of concentration. I hardly have this loss of concentration and when I do, I have a severe flare up. Well, I will force myself tomorrow to have the X-ray for the knees and will see my GI as well. I was just wondering: Can this knee pain precede a flare up? It's not confirmed as OA yet. But it's weird, I don't feel any pain or does the flare up pain mask that of the knees?
Any advice is highly appreciated.

Often joint pain (NOT osteoarthritis) can coincide with a flare of bowel symptoms.

Two days ago i thought i was starting a flare because my tummy was gurgling and also had joint pain, so i took my Asacol as prescribed(2 pills 3 times a day and the gurgling. When i woke up this morning, yay, no gurgling, but now the joint pain worsened. Every joint in my body hurts-elbows, wrist,knees and feet. I wonder if this pain is due to the Asacol or flare?

@ Kazbern. Yes, I know this but I'm not yet sure whether I got is osteoarthritis or something else. Ill bring this up to my GI.

@ Steroidqueen. Me, too. Well, I increased pentasa to 4g but it did not control my colon pain. I bet it's a flare up. All symptoms are there. I thought mistakenly that Imodium would decrease the motility of my intestines and thus lessens the numbers of having a bm but I was wrong. D is still there and cramps as well. I'm just wondering what meds would my GI prescribe after having clean biopsies last month:(

@Minnietoty-hope you feel relief soon. I eat bananas when i have D, and sometimes it works. Just got a protein powder at the healthfood store. I heard that protein drinks lessen muscle ache. If i get a miracle ill let u know!

@Kazbern-Do you experience joint pain too? What do u do to relieve the pain?

yes! my knees get so fat before a flare the inflamation runs wild. it is definately a sign of an oncoming flare. I have to go to the rheumatologist with any of the ibd you run a huge risk of arthritis(not osteo but rhuemetoid.), it is a variant of the same defective gene we all got with this disease. also if I am in for a really really bad flare I will get sores on my gums in my mouth and the swelling in every joint, that is when I know I am really done for. next time when you see the swelling start before a flare take fish oil and vitamin d if you arent already. I will double my coconut oil and fish oil at the first hint of the swelling and can sometimes get myself out of a flare before it starts otherwise I buy some magazines and that huge costco toilet paper ;) feel better

Steroidqueen, for a long time joint pain was my primary complaint. After a lot of work by my rheumy to get to the bottom of it, and then him pressuring the GI to fix it, my GI put me on sulfazine, which is an old arthritis med that helps with both joint pain and bowel inflammation. You can see in my signature how much I'm taking. Since I added this (about 2.5 years ago?) my hands/wrists/elbows are fine. My knee still ached until I went gluten-free last year.

I have osteoarthritis and rheumatoid. When my rheumatoid flares, my knee pain tends to leave. I am assuming that when the fluid enters my knees, that it is making a form of cushion so that the osteo doesn't hurt.
