I have been ill for 4 years with no definitive diagnosis and I have had many CT scans, MRIs, 5 colonoscopies, etc. I had 2 colonoscopies that showed focal active enteritis with pyloric gland metaplasia and an egd that showed duodenal mucosa with focal gastric foveolar metaplasia. Looks like Crohns but symptoms don't really match.
I don't really have stomach aches; I do have 1-3 bowel movements/day sometimes loose, sometimes not...I have swallowing problems and swelling of throat and tongue with sore thorats, reflux, mild esophageal dysmotility, severe pelvic pressure when I sit, mild facial flushing at times, etc.
I have gained weight in last 4 years, but have little appetite.
I am so confused. I am wondering if it is Crohns, Carcinoid Cancer (no tumor found and markers normal except one non specific marker), some other cancer, or what else could it be. The docs are stumped. I am also anemic on and off with Normocytic Anemia and have a high sed rate on and off, as well as pre-diabetes out of nowhere.....nothing really found on CT or MRI.
Any thoughts....does anyone have Crohns with atypical symptoms like this? I will probably go to Cleveland Clinic for another colonoscopy/egd....thanks so much. Debbie
