Found a tumor, please pray for me

Dear friends,

Well, I've been losing weight (20 lbs since late Sept) and had a puny appetite for months. My gut has also been bothering me on and off the last three months. Of course, I assumed this is/was Crohn's related.

But I've also had a bizarre configuration of problems since last spring - a cut that wouldn't heal, hot flashes and then no period for 6 mos, even though I'm 39; and I've caught an unusual amount of nasty colds - 3 since Dec. (mentioned all of this to my GI and GYN; no one seemed particularly concerned)
In late Dec., I almost passed out while getting dinner on the table to my kids. I think it's simply because I hadn't been eating enough.

Then in early Jan., I found a firm, painless lump on my outer left thigh. My primary care doc left her practice and I had to find a new dr. I scheduled an appt. with the new doc. She didn't seem overly concerned about the lump or other issues. She told me to return weeks later for blood tests. We did those last week. Most everything was within normal range except elevated inflammatory markers, platelets and low-normal iron.

I mentioned again the concern over the lump and she sent me for an ultrasound, then an MRI. MRI was inconclusive. Lump is a solid mass (tumor) with characteristics of both a benign and malignant structure. They're referring me to an orthopedic oncologist to have a consult and have it removed since biopsy runs the risk of spilling malignant cells elsewhere.

Quite honestly, I am terrified. I'm praying, praying, praying that it is benign! I need it to be. My husband and kids need it to be.
But I do have a history of getting the rarest of the rare and the radiologist even said he's never seen a mass quite like mine.
I'm getting over a cold and have a cough. Of course, my mind is running wild and thinking, "has this thing spread to my lungs?"
Probably not.

I'm just a mess. I am trying so hard to go on like everything is fine. Except it's not. Are the things I've been attributing to Crohn's actually from the tumor? Two months have passed since I found it. Did the delay allow it to advance if it's cancerous? I'm sure you can imagine.

I know that I shouldn't worry - YET - since I don't have anything definitive, but worry keeps creeping back in.
My 40th birthday is in a little over two weeks. I had wanted a party to celebrate. Now all I want is my LIFE! And a good quality one.

Please, if you're the praying type, add me and my family to your prayers. I so need them.

Specifically, if you could pray that the mass is 1) benign; 2) easily excised with clean margins and with minimal damage to my leg muscles (it's an intramuscular tumor); 3) has not spread if it it is malignant; 4) can be treated and cured.

And PLEASE, please pray for my family to be filled with peace and calm and strength and for my children and husband not to be fearful.

I am not the praying type either but I'm definitely sending good vibes and keeping fingers crossed that all will go well and that this lump is absolutely nothing harmful. ((((HUGS)))))

I remember you posting about the lump several weeks ago. I am so sorry. The worrying before you have results is so difficult. Try as best you can to not jump to conclusions. Let the surgeon's office know that this is really scaring you, and you want the biopsy done as soon as possible. I will be thinking of you, and I hope everything turns out ok!

So sorry that you're going through this. I will lift you and your family up in prayer. I hope and pray you will get through this stronger and healthier than ever.

Bee Sting, what else can you tell me about LDN? Is there a way we can exchange email, if that's OK with you?
Did your doctor recommend it since he/she would've had to prescribe it? Did you use it at the same time you received treatment?

Does your insurance pay for it or do you pay for it out of pocket and how expensive is it?

You certainly have my prayers coming your way. I think there's a very good chance that this could be a benign growth, although I'm no Dr. of course. There are numerous types of "lumps" like this, so the I think the chances are good. Have faith in your prayers.
