I saw my GI yesterday and I have been on the entocort 9mg/day for 18 months now he wanted to taper me off in Sept but thats when the generic came out and due to that I began a flare so was put back on Imuran(which in the past I have had many issues with)

I began my taper today but I just wondered for those who have taperd off it in the past how did your doc have you taper off?

For my instructions I will be off it in 3 weeks seems awfully fast but last time I was on it I cant recall how long the taper off took

Always been one week at 6 mg and one week at 3 mg for me.

I'm tapering off it now too, my doctor has me decreasing by one pill every three days as tolerated. I was at four pills, now down to 2 today. Btw I hate tapering :P

crohnieswimgurl, when you say four pills, is that 12 mg, 3 mg/pill?

My Doctor had me on 9mg, then tapered down to 6mg for a month, then 3mg for a month, all this time I was on Imuran as well.
