How long do your flares normally last?

What is the shortest time you've had one last.. I'm a bit confused because I have severe pain that had me in hospital for nearly two weeks - so had the pain for about 5 weeks all up and now it's already feeling better.. I'm going to keep positive that it will continue to feel better ;-)

Going on 18 months here, sorry to say. But I was just officially diagnosed and have only been on medication for a few months.

I'm wondering how many good days or better days you had before you thought you were out of a flare?

NSAIDs are a no-no for anyone with IBD. I do use them sparingly. I used to take naproxen for joint pain before my initial diagnosis, then stayed away from it for many years. Ultimately the joint pain and peri-menopausal headaches won out and I resumed using it, but only in single doses. What I did a couple of weeks ago when I took a 2nd dose of naproxen (Aleve) for knee pain was out of character and really stupid and I won't be making that mistake again any time soon.

The shortest "true" flare I had was about 6 months. The longest has been a little over a year.
