I have crohns and can't work, I'm about to go homeless now. I can't recieve any government financial help because I don't have kids, they denied unemployment after I was fired BECAUSE I was diagnosed with crohns, ss denied me disability, food stamps and medicaid DO NOT pay bills. I'm calling the homeless shelter today, I can't work so I hope they don't push me out. I'm a 24 year old educated woman 6 months away from getting my first job in at home based transcription (I've been studying from home). But now I'm homeless in a few days. I can't take the bus, no money and I can't because of my crohns. I can't drive my car because no money for gas soon. Just diagnosed with crohns last year and been sick going on 13 months.................nobody can take me in even though I know plenty of "middle" class people.

Hi,
I realy know how you feel on this one thats where I'm going to! but the goverment dont want to help at all? is it your first attempt? because they say they rarely accept people with crohn's the first time, if I was you I would go again and again and again, we have to push or they will care less about us, I just WISH the goverment would know how it realy feels, I hope the best for you and again keep pushing and keep going at your study even if it takes longer! take care and be patience.

Sorry you are having such a hard time Have you applied for section 8 housing? You should give that a try and appeal your SS. I am sad that none of your friends will lend a helping hand, even for a short time. I will be praying for you !

I wish I had some advice/answers for you. I feel very bad for the situation you're in right now. Is there any family members that can help you? There's got to be some way to get help. 

I can only offer prayers definitely coming your way. I hope some good news will present soon. Please have the persistance as hard as it must be to find a way to get some help.

I'm so sorry for your situation, I was 16 when I first got it. When I became an adult with 2 surgeries (resections) the 3rd time was the charm. Anyway I had been on social security disability twice before and had surgery got better and went off. The last surgery was bad so I had to reapply for the social security. You would think it would be easy because I was on it before. WRONG! It took 3 tries and a lawyer the third time. The kind that you don't pay until you win. So don't give up.
