crohn's remicade and cancer

You must be an awfully strong person to have been dealt so much and I can't begin to imagine what you are going through/feeling.

In answer to your question, yes there are tiny risks of developing cancer but the risk increases(albeit in a very few) to those on remicade AND Immuran/Azathioprine, male and somewhere in the age range of teenager and young adults.

What should you do? To be honest I really don't know. I guess that is something that needs to be discussed with your Drs

I strongly suggest you to have a look at the database of LDN and cancer treatments too. LDN has done something there for a lot of people having cancers, and many of them have written at the

If you are worried about cancer then you should also get your levels of vitamin d tested. Vitamin D is big here on HW. Do a search on some of our threads. Or go to www.grassrootshealth.net.

There are some rigorous studies compiled by Grassroots Health that indicate that vitamin D really is helpful for many diseases. I admit Grassroots may be on the anti-med side, but their studies are rigorous. I don't have the numbers for IBD but breast cancer incidence is reduced by 30% when vitamin D blood level is at least 34 ng/ml vs the baseline of 25 ng/ml. Not exactly a silver bullet but helpful enough so that everyone should get their vitamin D blood level checked.

Rickets is reversed by 99 percent with only a level of 18. Multiple Sclerosis by 33 percent at a level of 44 and reduced by 54 percent when blood levels are over 56 ng/ml. Heart attack in men can be reduced by 30 percent with blood levels of 34. The list goes on and on.

Thanks to all who replied. And thank you, bee sting, for explaining what LDN stands for and what it does. I will look into it this week. Thanks for the info on vitamin D...I have been on it for a few years now, also a multi, C, B-12 injections and calcium. Has
anyone heard of oxygen therapy? A coworker has been talking about it for months now, and I just started it yesterday...he has been on it a month now with no ill effects. I figured it can 't hurt to try it. Any other ideas are appreciated, too.
