Did Humira escape?

Hi all!

I use the Humira pen. Last night I had my Humira inyeccion and went for the right leg (I usually alternate between legs and stomach), but this time was more painful than usual and then a lot (and I mean A LOT) of blood started to come out.

Did Humira leaked out from by system? Did I punctured a vein and inyected it into the bloodstream? In both cases, the medication will not work.

Does anybody have experience on this? Should I take another shot?

I always take my shots in the stomach because there is more Sub Q tissue-fat.

I too take it in the stomach. I am a thin guy so there is no way i am going to do it in my Boney legs. I take the shot out of the fridge a half hour to cool off and does not sting as bad. FYI. Good luck with this dd.

The blood likely came from a small capillary. There are literally thousands of capillaries in the body. What looks like a LOT of blood was probably a very small amount. I doubt you got any directly into your blood stream. It is very hard to inject into a leg vein without using a tourniquet.

Should you give yourslf another injection? NO unless your prescribing doctor tells you to do so. Two things could happen: 1) you get too much Humira causing an adverse reaction; 2) your insurance will charge you extra or full price for using more than alloted for the prescribed period.

Given your concern, please consult with the doctor who prescibed your Humira.
