Prednisone and Acne

I know this probably has been covered about a million times before, but does anyone have any suggestions for acne from Prednisone? I’ve been on it since Feb 2012 and tapering down 2.5 MG per week, currently at 7.5. I’m so frustrated at this point because it’s caused my face to breakout with acne all over, with my forehead being the worst. I really wish I could just stop taking this junk… Think it would be safe to go down 2.5 MG every 3-4 days? I know my doctor wouldn’t recommend, but I’m desperate.

HI, ds was on entocort(not pred) but the same thing happened to him, only he was plastered in it and I had hoped that it would clear up(given a few weeks coming off the drug) but it didn't. Lots of prescribed items were tried to no avail.

I asked the sme question and a product for acne by Natures Sunshine was recommended, couldn't find that in local health food shop so tried a product called Blue Flag Compound and within a week ds' skin looked less angry and he saw a week on week improvement.
I would not claim that it cures acne due to fact son still takes this product everyday or so and we just get to the point when we think he can stop taking it altogether and his skin starts to look agitated again and we up the dose. It doesn't cure but it does stop it(if that makes sense!)

That is a nature's Sunshime acne product recc to us by someone else whose dd(with crohn's) had acne, not tried by ds as health Food Shop didn't stock(believe it more widely available in US)

This one is what we went with(widely available in UK) on recc of Health Food Shop.

Other things which may help are vitamin mineral supplements such as Vitamin B complex, Vitamin A(taking more than the suggested dose of this(on label) is not wise and D and Zinc.
Also try not to over stimulate/clean your face with harsh products because it doesn't help and can make your skin increase oil production.
Vitamins and minerals can sometimes take a couple of months to 'kick in'. If you don't see any improvement with either of the two other products(if you try either) within a couple of weeks I would suggest moving on to something different as, like with drugs not everything works for everyone the same way. For ds it worked really well but in the same vein it may or may not work for you.

Generally acne appears to be either digestive or liver related issues(not sure how the steroids fit into it,but they certainly do)
