CROHNS FLARE / PUT ME ON PRED AND I FEEL WORSE !

I guess i am in my 2nd month ( at least ) of a severe flare ... they just now believe me after doing a ct scan ...

just dont understand why this GI is refusing to do a colonoscopy when I asked him to 3 months ago ...its been a year ...

anyway ... they put me on Entocort along with the already Humeria and I started to see a change....D from 15 x a day down to 6-8 ...big difference especially for my butt !

but then they called when they got the results and said stop the E and get on Pred now ... I didn't want to but did ....this is only the second day and I feel sicker ... I have so much more pain ...

I just don't get it ...is it normal for the Prednisone to do that ? it has been YEARS since i have been on prednisone...

I was up all night because of pain ...

BUT THE OTHER really weird thing that I have been experiencing lately and especially the last few days is PROFUSE SWEATING ON THE BACK OF MY NECK ...WHILE i AM SLEEPING ....AWAKE ..IT DOESN'T MATTER ...i AM IN A/C AND FANS AND I AM STILL SWEATING BEHIND MY NECK ... I FEEL SO TERRIBLE ...

ANYONE EXPERIENCE THIS ?

Prednisone gives me night sweats, too. I just started on 40mg pred last Thursday and woke up drenched in sweat last night. Crohns itself can also cause night sweats. I hope you get better - after just 4 days of pred my urgency and frequency is way down. I hope it lasts!

Pred makes me feel really bad, especially on higher doses. Most people have joint pain when they taper down, but I have bad joint pain the first couple days of it. My doctors are baffled because it's so opposite the norm, but I have to take pain meds in order to sleep when I first go on pred.

I hope things get better :)

Yes, it is strange that you would feel WORSE on Prednisone unless there is something else wrong, or it is burning your stomach (have milk or food with it!). I wonder if you have some other problem inside? Possibly you could have an infection and with Prednisone it would dampen down your immune system and make you more susceptible to the infection. I know when I was on Prednisone years ago it didn't help me with a fungus infection that I had under my fingernail! I hope this helps you and that you feel better real soon!
