Retesting biopsy - would this be helpful?

I'm still searching for a GI and haven' t found.So, a friend pediatrician suggested that I send the biopsies of previous colonscopies to be retested as she does not trust the lab my prevoius GI used to deal with. Also, she mentioned that we have to get sure of the diagnosis before we start treatment. I had 3 colonscopies so far. Two were performed before I was put on pred, methotrexate and Entocort. These date back to 2007 and 2009. The last one was done in 2012 after I was medicated with pred for one year and a half.
I'm confused and wondering if retesting biopsies would give good results. I'm thinking of sending the old ones before pred.The results in both was mild active infectious ileocolitis. What do you think?

The question is, are you sure the biopsies would still show the infectious inflammation along with other things?

  If so, and it's not a waste of money, go for it! It couldn't hurt! Sometimes our pain isn't justified but I say you should keep trying to find the answer to all your problems whether it be an IBD or another GI condition/disease. I wish there was more GI's where you live(good ones at least) that would try a little harder.

Did the GI who found the infectious ileocolitis give you a script for antibiotics? I have a few family members who had that & after a long term treatment of antibiotics, MOST not all, don't have the issue anymore. The others have been still batteling it for quite some time.

  It took me forever to get diagnosed so don't give up! It isn't "all in your head"! You can't fake inflammation!
