Hello everyone. I'm just wondering if any of you have had this same problem. For about
a month now, I've been having this pressure and pain right at the bottom of my left ribcage. It feels like there is something inflamed or swollen and it presses against the last rib. It's very uncomfortable and I sometimes have really sharp pains there. I mentioned it to my GI and he told me to double up on my probiotics if i wanted to, and didnt seem concerned. Any ideas? Thanks

I had a long bout of pain in my upper right quadrant, and after many diagnostics it turned out to be simply constipation. do you think that could be what's going on with you?

Rianne, I have always had pain right below the left rib cage and it is even swollen but was told that this was my ascending colon and as it is inflamed, I have pain. My GI too never took it seriously. So, if the pain is not that severe, you have to live up with it BUT if it is unbearable, contact your GI asap.
Hope you feel better soon:)
Keep us posted.

Well, I used to have a problem with constipation, but not so much anymore. But I guess that could be a possibility. I have always had a problem with inflammation though, so I guess inflammation of the ascending colon could be a possibility also. Thanks for the ideas!

That is also the area of the spleen, pancreas and left kidney.
If you suspect it is constipation try a gentle stool softener once a day.
