There is...my surgeon explained it to me before I had my gallbladder taken out but I don't remember exaclty why now. It has something to do with your body not absorbing bile in your small intestines so it goes back into your gallbladder and creates stones.
A lot of us here have had our gallbladders taken out. My doctor didn't hesitate to take mine out once tests showed stones, and I was glad to have it gone. It caused a lot of pain and I felt much better when it was gone!
