so my stomach biopsy has come back as showing chronic gastritis.. anyone else have this? wanna tell me about it? I don't have any symptoms that I know of.. I get nausea but I thought that was from either the tummy pains or the pain killers..

I had severe stomach pains at times after eating. It would take 5-10 TUMS to get the pain under control. When they finally listened and did an upper endoscopy they found patches of recent gastric bleeding. My GI explained that there is a type of "back wash" from the CD in my TI causing the gastritis.

hmm I get pain after eating (or sometimes even at the smell of food!) but it's in the lower tummy.. :-s.. humph. yet another thing that potentially points to crohns and they still won't even consider it.

I too have chronic gastritis but I was never told the reason. I can't tell you the exact symptoms as I have had GERD a long before I got gastritis and I have duodenitis as well. When my gastritis and duodenitis flare up, I usually have severe stomach pain that increases with food and necessitates I stop eating. I'm already on Nexium 80 mg and if it does not control pain, I take Zantac and an anti-ulcer drug.

I have chronic gastritis caused by my Crohn's(biopsies showed my Crohn's affected all of my stomach) & it is sometimes worse than the intestinal pains. It causes me some gastroparesis type issues. I get extremely nauseated, vomitt, and get full after a few bites. It really is miserable. If I eat meat, it won't pass out of my stomach until at LEAST 48 hours after I eat it. So, when I say I'm full. I'm literally full. I've been on zantac 2 x a day & prilosec 1x a day for over a year now. It hasn't helped at all. I think I'm at the point where the crohn's affecting my stomach won't go away. Hopefully the intestinal pain goes away soon. I throw up blood occasionally because the inflammation is so deep.
