A week ago today, I went in to the ER due to going through a flare that at that point had lasted 16 days. In the last 2, I started getting 102*F fevers. Eventually they emitted me to the actual hospital. For multiple days, they couldn't get my fevers to go down with Tylenol, and eventually had to prescribe Motrin. On Tuesday, one team found a small fissure, and on Thursday, a sediscope revealed pretty nasty damage to about 85% of my large intestines. Small intestines and illium looked fine. Finally after the scope, they threw me on IV steroids. Friday, blood has stopped in my stool, but frequency was still on the high side (13 movements) Last night was a much better night. My latest small victory is I'm actually having somewhat formed stool (looks like rabbit poop).
It's been filled with a lot of heavy emotions. I'm starting to feel alot better, and now I'm itching to get out of here.
My history is, my mother battled with crohn's for 10 years until she had her large intestines stans her rectum removed. She's been unmedicated now for 17 years. I'm 26, an extremely fit individual and race road and mountain bikes at the national level. Last January I feel ill and on Valentines day, I was diagnosed with Crohn's. After some failed meds, I went to Humeria which did make me go from nearly house confined to back on the bike and riding 6 days a week again.
