Yup, I've had this happen. I went straight to the ER, and ended up losing half the blood in my whole body. I didn't realize I was bleeding that much. It was coming out bright red, but it was coming out so fast it just didn't have a chance to turn dark! So it annoys me a bit when people don't take it seriously. Saying it's bright red is okay, and that it may not be much in the bowl. It's not something we can really determine ourselves.
I had a deep ulceration in my TI that was the culprit. They had to go in and close it up via Colonoscopy. I was super pale, and very anemic for months after that. Walking from one room to the other would put me out of breath. They had talked about
blood transfusions but had just decided to let me build it back on my own with iron pills.
It was scary! I wouldn't fool around with it if it's a lot of blood. We don't realize how fast we can lose it.
