Man!!! Your bod just is NOT the most cooperative part of your life, is it, Randy. Heck of a lotta nerve for that bleeding ulcer to rear its ugly head whilst you are on vacation. Sheeze. Just no manners at all!
So what do they do for a bleeding ulcer if they can't do a scope and cauterize it?
My stepmother bled out from two bleeding ulcers in the stomach. I watched the first scope done in ER. She was admitted and was to be scoped again two days later but the gastro was to be out of town so it was scheduled for the following day.
My stepmom was thirsty wanted some gingerale which I didn't think she should have giving the cauterized ulcers but the nurse said she could have it and gave her some. That evening she began bleeding out again and the gastro refused to do a scope the next morning because she didn't think my stepmom would live thru the scope. She went peacefully that evening.
Her two bleeding ulcers were caused by some cleaning product the cleaning ladies at her independent living facility left sitting on her cupboard top. My stepmom was legally blind thought it was her bottle of root beer and took a healthy swig.
She was 84. The attorney who had been handling her affairs asked the family if they wanted to sue - and interestingly warned them that the death of some one of such as advanced age as 84 wasn't really worth any large judgement!!! I thought a really clumsy way to phrase it but .... understandable.
Now, aren't you sorry you brought the subject up???
Good luck w/getting that ulcer cleared up w/the least amount of discomfort and inconvenience, Randy.
