I was diagnosed in 2007 with Crohn's although my GI doc said he thought it was much longer than that. (he is my second GI doc) I have yet to be in remission. I have had 72 cm of my ileum and my cecum removed last June 24. It has not changed any old symptoms. In the past 3 to 4 months I have new symptoms with the old. After another small bowel series I was told more scar tissue, inflammation in the small bowel and in the colon. He suggested I start Remicade to see if it will slow things down. I reluctantly had my first treatment a month ago. My my concern now is I have this pain that is in the rectal area, but doesn't feel like my rectum. It hurts when I sit down but if I a standing there is no pain. Doesn't feel like when you have many bathroom episodes and the wiping irritates. This is much higher up. Anyone else has anything similar? I am praying for no more surgery for a while. I stumbled onto this forum during my relentless research on Crohn's. You all are great! It is nice to know I am not by myself and there are folks who understand that this disease is not easy to live with. It takes great effort for me.

Welcome 14chix. Do you think that this is tailbone pain? have you ever had fistulas?

Never had fistulas...not sure of the symptoms of fistulas. I thought it could be my tailbone but not quite that far up. I know I should go to my Doc, but every time I go there is always something else. I just wanted a summer with no major worries. Enough is on my plate. Have you ever had fistulas? If so what were the symptoms? Thanks for responding.

I don't have fistulizing disease, so I can't tell you what that feels like, but others here have had perianal abscesses that start out feeling like a local soreness. I'm sorry that your summer has had this to tarnish it, but I do think you need to call your GI.

I noticed tailbone pain months before I got my diagnosis- in fact that is how they found I had crohn's because they were trying to figure out what was the cause of my tailbone pain.

I still don't have many answers but one theory is that it is arthritic from when I broke it as a child. Possibly the crohn's is making inflammaDtion which is causing the arthritis.

Either way, make sure you go to the dr. I was a bit worried about getting it checked but felt much better knowing it wasn't anything serious. Keep me posted in what they say- I'd like to know if this is a CD symptom.
