I am not sure if this is typical with CD but I have pain under each lower rib.. it comes and goes but hurts to touch. Also I believe I get lower back pains after eating... no really stomach pains after a meal but just this ache in my back.

I am still trying to determine what is muscle.. i don't see my GI for a couple of weeks and I'm not sure if I should go to my family dr. just to have her check it out beforehand.

Does anyone get pains like these??

I get pains like yours all the time, except mine is limited to the right side. I know that mine is not muscle pain; it is definitely internal and exacerbated by food triggers. I think it's probably worth getting checked out if it is a new symptom for you. Better to be safe than sorry! Good luck,

Thanks Brian- can i ask how long it takes the pain to come after a meal? i notice it often so it's hard to tell if it's food related... i do find some pains are better in the morning after not eating all night.

i see my GI in less than 3 weeks.. not sure if i should try to speed up an appointment.. or see my family dr. about it. it an annoying pain but not unbearable so i'm hoping to wait it out.

It doesn't sound like it needs immediate attention to me. If you have an appointment in 2 weeks, make sure you tell your GI about it. It would be good to keep a journal between now and then so you can communicate clearly what is going on.

I have pain on my right and left side that is related to how much stool is in my bowel. When it's full, the pain is greater. When it's empty I have no pain at all.

If the pain is not unbearable I would wait it out. I don't have the pains in the ribs but I do have a lot of lower back pain that I think is related to the Crohns.

thanks everyone- i'm just not use to pains of any sort.. up until a couple of months ago i was fine.. now all these things are cropping up! i will wait to see the GI but luckily I should be able to see my GP at a moment's notice if things worsen.. the good sign is that they do improve so it's not a constant thing.

the good news is that i'm starting to believe my diagnosis even with the limited stomach issues i'm getting.. so i am warming up to the idea of meds.
