I have had crohns for about 22 years now and I have been getting the Cimzia shots for almost four years. I know there is alot of side effects...well, when I was washing my face I noticed that under my neck, right under my jaw bone there is a knot...I have no idea what it is but it does hurt when i touch it...i was reading up on the side effects of the Cimzia shot...it says that TB is one of them....this has me so scared..should i go to the doctor or maybe it's nothing...I know the best thing to do is to have it checked out, I just don't want to jump to conclusions...Has anyone ever had TB (I sure hope not) but just wondering how you felt if you did have it...I don't feel sick or nothing...it just hurts when i touch it..its about the size of a pinto bean maybe....what do yall thing...someone please tell me what you think it could be...and what i should do...thanks!!

I think it's unlikely that a knot near your jawbone would indicate TB. But whatever it is, if it's painful and if it's a lump, you need to get it checked out right now by a doctor. Could be just about anything--from a swollen gland or a blocked salivary gland to some kind of abscess or a swollen lymph node. Go have a doctor take a look at it! And don't be scared. Most likely it's something minor--and if, by any faint chance, it's something bad, the sooner you get it taken care of, the healthier you'll be.

Yeah it sounds more like a swollen lymph node. Call your doc to have it checked out.

Crohn's patients are prone to swollen glands....probably all that it is....but totally necessary to go to the doctor and get it checked. I go to the doctor whenever I am concerned over something and i don't feel stupid about doing so. I once went to the doctor for a black spot I thought was growing on my thigh. Turned out to be a piece of dirt....and I don't care if I looked stupid :)

I thought that TB was a lung disease?? If it is, no worries. But whatever your questions are, just ask, it does wonders for the brain ;)

You can get TB in other places than the lungs, BUT I have only seen it in one patient that was from southeast asia (been a nurse for 15 years) These shots can lower your resistance against other diseases. Check with doc sure it is a lymph node. Drug companies have to list ALL POTENTIAL side effects ( so they cover their you know whats....)
