I used to wait a while (2-3 days) but I have started going sooner. It seems that when I start up with any kind of cramping or abdominal pain it won't stop on its own any more, so I need pain meds. Also, I'm finding that if I go in sooner there is a better chance that the CT scan will actually see whatever is going on. Nothing stinks as much as waiting it out for several days and then when you finally do go in, they can't find anything.
I have 2 more weeks to wait for a push endoscopy after my last trip to the ER about a month ago. By the time I have the test done the inflammation that they saw on the CT scan may have cleared up, but at least they did get it on the CT scan.
