headache for 2 weeks... is it the prednisone?

Hi guys just wanted your opinion. I have had this annoying headache in my eye for 2 weeks ever since I had trouble going to the bathroom and pushed too hard (sorry for tmi). Its not the worst headache i've had but its almost always there and never had anything last this long. I often wake up with it and it doesnt totally go away with tylonol. I'm down to 10mg of pred. from 40. When does one go to the doctor about something like this? I don't want to sound like I whiner as I feel like I have a new problem each week or two but i know one can have eye problems from prolonged pred. usage. Thanks!

There is always the possibility it could be from the weaning of the prednisone but you could also have a tension headache from straining. If you medicate your pain daily you could be experiencing rebound pain. It's hard to say? Hope your headache goes away soon and you get some answers to help you get rid of it ASAP.

Thanks- I tried tylonol a few times but I dont take it everyday after two or three times of it not working I gave up on that. Its kinda of like a sharp pain in my one eye that goes to the back of my head as well as pressure in that side of my face. Idk does like one from weaning the prednisone? Just so tired of having new complaints. already have a full day of doc visits monday to find out why my knee is cracking like crazy.

I think you may want to see an opthamologist..Pred can damage your eyes and you can also get Crohn's complications in your eye...better to be safe. I hope you feel better soon

I think you need to make an appointment with your General Practitioner immediately. Your symptoms are concerning since the headache has persisted so you may need a CT of the head to rule out an aneurysms or something along those lines. Any headache that is out of the ordinary needs to be checked out asap! Better safe than sorry!

so confused. My GP sent me for an mri and it came back today that I have a difference in density on the right side of my brain and some calcification. He said it could be from inflammation or just has always been there. He said not to do anything about it. When he asked me how I felt I told him Im still getting the headaches. He seemed to get a bit annoyed I was still complaining about them and just said its nothing major and offered me no other advise. What do you think? Has anyone had anything like this and was it related to the Crohn's. I'm thinking about getting a second opinion since googled this (big mistake) and found that calcification can be caused by all sorts of things including toxoplasmosis and since I have several cats dont feel like finding out it is from that when I start taking Humira. Thanks for listening

Well, I don't know anything about your MRI results. I would be confused too! I do want to mention my headaches - google occipital neuralgia. I get these headaches that last for weeks or months. The pain starts in the back of my head - almost where the end of my sunglasses hit - and then shoots up behind my eyes. Sometimes they are bearable, many times not. Could be a possibility for you based on how you described the headaches.
