Dr. recommendation for Buffalo NY area - can't rem who asked

Finally got in touch with my sis (there is wedding planning going in the family so it has been hectic!).

I think it may have been Bella, but not sure who asked for a Buffalo doc.  Dr. Sewinski is the guy we like.  I even saw him when I left the area and could not find a guy I like here....I thought he was worth the 1.5 hour drive.

As I recall, aren't you Canadian? I'm from Niagara Falls. Why did you consider going to Buffalo to see a GI? Wasn't there a considerable cost factor?

Hey 73....I am originally from a suburb north of Buffalo. Think 15 minutes south of the Canadian border. I just grew up watching Canadian TV, spending a lot of weekends in Canada, finding out relatives came to US through St Catherines...and when the US changed the drinking age to 19 I was just shy of 19-then to 21, I was just shy of 21 so I spent my college years drinking in Ft Erie and Niagara Falls (could never do that now with the borders!!!)
I now live about 1.5 hours east of Buffalo....for how great this guy was to me after a really awful doc, it was worth the trip. He was so reasonable that he was willing to see me, but strongly strongly encouraged I find a local doc for the best care.

I'm was born & raised in Buffalo. Haven't heard of Dr. Sewinski - is he with a group here?
I have great memories of my teenage years in Ft. Erie, where my family had a summer cottage.
They still have the best Chinese restaurant in the area, but how I miss those Villager canadian-bacon
subs!!!!!

Can't say that I know of the Chinese place you're refering to. Fort Erie has been hard hit in the past couple of years. Alot of industry lost, plus the Racetrack may shut down completely. It was a nice little town at one time though.

yeah if you guys now of how to get in touch with Dr.sewinski, PLEASE let me know . I live in Buffalo now and can't find a good GI doc here Thanks! Habshockey, I used to teach nursing at D'Youville...until the crohns and MS lost me too many days from work.

Singingsupernurse - have you tried the Buffalo Medical Group - Dr. Piscatelli, specifically? I especially like the group because they can deal with the different problems that crop up - and have cancer specialists in the group, in case.

Sorry guys...I was at a family wedding in Buffalo, then away camping.  I don't know Sewinski's contacts any more.  I am sure he is in the book somewhere.  My sis still goes to him (when she is in desperate need because she is stubbornly ignoring as much as she can).

Will have to get hold of my sis as I must be spelling it incorrectly and can't find him on google.  Will drop in again with a better spelling.

I also grew up in near Buffalo! I recently got dx with Crohn's and my dad has been living with it for over 30 years.
