Is it common to bleed after your colonoscopy?

I had it yesterday at 12:00 Im on a clear liquid diet and a TPN bag of nutrition I started Asacol last night and today I also started 60mg of prednisone. I had some polyps that I thought he removed, well I just went to the bathroom and saw something in the toilet that looked like one of those polyps how does that happan?

I've read that bleeding after a colonoscopy when polyps have been removed is normal. But if it continues, it would be a good idea to call your doctor. ~SB

It might not have been so bad but the day after they also did a lower GI barium X-ray and shoved that ballon up rectim and dilated it, it just made things a lot worse. I have since stopped bleeding they gave me a Canasa suppository that worked wonders for my rectum going to of hell let have that im the morning and at night. Thanks so much for your response.
