Entocort vs. Prednisone?

I met someone today with CD (the second person I've ever met face-to-face!) at the acupuncturist. She told me that she takes Entocort instead of Prednisone and has no side effects. I get terrible side effects with Prednisone (food cravings, mood swings, weight gain, migraines, insomnia, joint pain, "moon face," and more). I'm currently tapering off, thank goodness, and am fine with that. But I wanted to know for next time (hopefully there won't BE a next time!) if I should try Entocort to see if it's any better. Have any of you tried both? Or just Entocort? What were your experiences?

I prefer Entocort. I have disease in the small intestine and the doctor says it provides good coverage there. My appetite and other side effects went down after switching to Entocort from Prednisone.

I stayed on pred for one year and a half when I gained 14 kgs, had a moon face, reversible hypertension, mood swings, insomnia, severe gastritis and gerd and fat collections. Entocort was introduced while I was tapering pred and was also on methotrexate. My GI realized then that my condition, esp. intestinal wise became better on it and so pred and mtx were withdrawn. For almost a year now I have been doing well (no intestinal pain - keep your fingers crossed). My GI told me that patients can stay on it for years.
