Hello,

I have not been on the site for a very long time.  I have been dealing with this crohns disease as all of you have.  I was diagnosed in 2010.  Today my GI tells me I have to have the surgery mentioned.  Very scared.  Has anyone on this forum had the following operation with success.  Thanking you for your time.

My mom had this surgery a few years ago and she has done really well. Had we know what life was like now she would have done the surgery years ago. There is an adjustment period and you have to learn about tending to the ostomy, but life goes on. The ostomy site mentioned before is a great place too!

Scifigal2k and Meshice, thank you both for your posts. I have been on the Ostomy site forum. I find it very helpful, as I will be having the surgery after Christmas.
