Waiting for my colonoscopy

Hi I've been experiencing my symptoms for the last 8 months I am 22 years old and am currently waiting for my colonoscopy. my doctor believes that I have crohns or ulcerative colitis after many months of blood tests and dietary changes and drug testing I was booked in for a colonoscopy which was 3 months ago and am finally having it next week I am a tad worried I have been reading up about crohns and ulcerative colitis so I have a pretty good idea but I am worried about the colonoscopy and forgetting what is said during it im also worried what my future holds so was hoping to get others opinions on how it has affected them and did it take this long for others to get diagnosed or do I have crap doctors?

Bluefeather, sometimes it takes a long time to get diagnosed. It's hard to know why it took 8 months to get you scheduled for a scope, but docs are often unwilling to do invasive testing like that unless they think there is a good chance it will be conclusive.

Please bring someone with you to the scope. Someone you can trust who can listen to what the doctor says after the scope. You will probably not remember that, even though you will be waking up from the anesthesia.

defintly take someone with you,you will not remember what they say after the scope.I had syptoms for 5 years i think,kinda got use to it,my orthodontist was the one who suggested that i may have crohns disease due to the cobbling (lumps) inside my mouth,blood test came back normal 2 yrs later got diagnosed and ended up needing surgery and had a bag for 2 months....gud times.as to your future depends on how bad your crohns is my friends who have crohns manage well where as i struggle.i was 19 when i had my surgery and now im 25.
