CD - New Doc - Clean Colonoscopy

I am a 58 year old female with Crohns disease, diagnosed in 1999.  I am post ileocoloctomy April 2011.  13 day in hospital with infection after surgery.  Remicade infusion patient since Dec 2010.  No issues with Remicade.  In May, I began receiving SSD, and this past Sept my gastro of 9 years fired me because I only have Medicaid Share of Cost.  I was a self pay patient with him.  New Medicaid gastro just did endo and colonscopy and told me I was completely clean.  I had know I was in remission from colonoscopy in fall of 2011.  New doc says he thinks my crohns is cured and I don't need further treatment on Remicade!  Has anyone had this type of issue before?

yeah, your new doc sounds like a fool, especially if he actually used the word "cure." There is no cure. You might be able to stop remicade and start just taking maintenance meds.... but I know that wouldn't cut it for my symptoms. They'd come roaring back right away.

Yes, a new GI doc is definitely in order. Geez, cured? I'd be leary about stopping the remicaid, chances are if you stop it your CD will flare up again.
