Hi monte,
I'm very sorry to hear about
your daughter not feeling well and having to deal with so much pain.
After eating, and then pain is typically muscle contractions/spasms in the intestines. The pain is in waves, as the food is pushed (organized muscle contractions) through the digestive tract. When there's an intestinal obstruction, partial or complete, the pain is excruciatingly sharp with each wave.
That pain can be so bad, it's just too much to try to be upright and lying down brings almost no relief.
I have seen others mention the use of Bentyl, it prevents spasms in the muscles of the gut.
Bentyl-

When I get that pain, I curl up with a heating pad and then stick to a liquid diet for about
24 hours, to rest my gut a bit.
When I had Crohn's up to the point of 22 years, then I had a stricture to be concerned with. When I had flare ups, I did suffer from blockages between the inflammation and scar tissue. This resulted in vomiting every time I had a flare up and was the only relief from the pain until the flare up passed. It eventually led to a lower bowel resection.
Here's information and an explanation on intestinal strictures-
