coming off 6mp

I have a question about coming off of 6mp. I started 6mp just a few months ago, in September 2012. It took a few months to work, but I'm doing pretty good now. My GI told me that his plan is to have me on it for 1-2 years, then to try stopping it and see how I do. He said he has seen it change the course of people's disease and seemed to imply a chance that I could be med-free afterwards. This sounds great, but I am a bit skeptical. I hope it could be true as I would love to have another baby and get through the pregnancy without needing 6mp.

Has anyone had luck getting off 6mp and having remission continue?

I took 6mp for a year, it kicked my Crohns into a remission like state (i never got rid of diarrhea, but pain/vomiting went away). I went off of it for almost 2 years without any issues.
But about 4 months ago, I started with a major flare, so now I'm back on it, waiting and hoping for it to work for me again. Good luck!
