Then endoscopy will show ulcers or other problems in your esophagus or stomach. The doc also may be able to take a biopsy for celiac, but I'm not sure. To rule out Crohn's, you would need a colonoscopy and either a pill cam, CT or small bowel follow through test. Since GERD is their first suspicion, it makes sense that they are starting with the upper endoscopy. I have gastorparesis (slow stomach emptying) which was diagnosed with a test where I swallowed radioactive eggs and then they x-rayed as the food moved through. For me the gastroparesis is intermittent, and when I have it I get full easily and very nauseated. Gastroparesis isn't necessarily related to Crohn's, but for me it gets bad when I'm in a Crohn's flare. I hope you get some answers and feel better soon.
