First Surgery EVER

So my doctors have decided that i need to have a Laparoscopic Nissen Fundoplication surgery because they are worried that with my Crohn's meds the reflux I'm still getting is going to cause more problems then they think more meds can handle. I'm a little scared as I've heard of some bad side effects, and well I'm just scared cause its my first surgery. But the date is set for March 13th and I go in on Valentines day to sign all the paper work and talk to an anesthesiologist.

I have Crohn's and had a Laproscopic Nissen Fundoplication a little over a year ago. I didn't have heartburn - I had LPR which caused me to constantly inhale stomach acid. It was a bad, bad thing.

I also needed to get the Nissen soon after being diagnosed because my Crohn's was going nuclear over the PPI meds.

The Nissen was challenging - surgery always hurts at the beginning. And then you get better. I've had several, so I'm quite the grizzled veteran.
