Hi all, i had dinner last night, quite a heavy meal, resulting in stomach pains which happens fairly often. I also felt very sick. This morning i feel like my stomach is still full of food, like it hasn't moved and still feel sick. Has anyone had this? I'm due to have a colonoscopy soon after many years of remmision, prior to that 15 years ago i had a bowel resection and stricture plasty but i can't remember the symptoms really, just that i was in alot of pain! Also i suffer from acid reflux for which i take lansaprozole but haven't taken them for a few days. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi Kel,
Yes, I think I know what you mean. Try exercising, even if you don't feel like it....it doesn't have to be intense. A long walk might be good. Also stick to liquids...water and fruit juice until you can feel a little better. I also think it's time to call your GI doc and see what's going on. sorry you are in pain!

Thank you Gumby, i don't suppose i can complain, i've been relatively well for a long time so it was always going to get me eventually! I've been drinking lots of tea, haven't eaten anything yet. I had the strangest feeling earlier where i could literally feel it moving through but it's still there, just not as bad. I fear i may have a stricture again.

Yep, you might. Can you reach your doc today? If you get in severe pain or start vomiting, you should go to the ER. Sorry you are going through this!

A nurse at church told me about
coke a cola helping blockages. It has to be the original kind with all the sugar and caffeine, and it helps break the food down in digesting. She heard about
the study being done about
it somewhere, and since then I saw it in the news. I've tried it, since I deal with similar symptoms as you, and it really helps! It's worth a try, at least it won't hurt or conflict with meds!
Hope you are feeling better, and play it safe like gumby last mentioned...a ct scan might be needed to see what's really going on.
