Did a search on the internet and found this forum.
I do not have any Inflammatory Bowel Disease but decided to post here because there are many experts here who have experience with the above condition.
Long story about my anal abscess problem. I do not have draining issues all along.
June 2011: Had some hard stools. A pea size abscess appeared ½ - 1 inch away from the anus (towards the rear of the anus at the middle of the bums). Increased in size to an almond size after a few days and visited the doctor. He gave me oral antibiotics for a week plus and did not drain it because there isn’t any pus apparently (just inflammation). Abscess reduced abit in size (slightly smaller than an almond) and inflammation gone. But it stays on as a hard bump without pain or being infected. Just dormant doing nothing except bleeding some bright red blood after passing some hard stools. If the stools are soft then no bleeding at all. The hard bump seems like an antibioma (I found this information only in apr 2012 after searching the net intensively).
April 2012: Decided to do something to clear away the almond size bump from my anus so I applied nixoderm & benzol peroxide on it until it burst. Blood and pus came out after squeezing it until it stops draining. Only managed to take out 1/2 ml of blood and pus from the abscess and the nothing comes out of it anymore. Thought that everything was over and it became swollen after 1 week. Popped the abscess using needle and squeezed out only few drops of bright blood and pus and seems like nothing left. This cycle goes on for months and I popped the abscess 3-4 times in total until Nov 2012.
Nov 2012: I started using sitz bath everyday after BM and applied some antibiotic ointment on it. The abscess reduced in size quickly until went back to pea size again. Continued the treatment for 1 month and it still remains as pea size bump. Decided to stop treatment and bump grew in size until like an almond again, but no pus accumulated inside no pain and not draining. It also does not grow larger than an almond.
I continued using the sitz bath and antibiotic ointment again since early feb and the bump managed to reduced until the size of a grain of rice. I seriously do not know what is actually happening to that abscess because it does not drain, causes no pain and does not increase in size even after being reinfected. The most it does is just an almond size bump without pain or drain. Thanks.
I heard that antibiotics can heal fistulas but read on the internet that fistula tracts will not heal without surgery. Because the membrane on the tracts are kind of fixed and will not close itself even when the tissues are not infected or inflamed. But I've read that a lot of you guys managed to close fistula tracts with antibiotics. I would like to avoid surgery because I've heard people getting cut up 6-7 times and yet another new abscess blew up. Meaning that it will never end. And my original condition was just a small almond sized bump that would not do anything. No pain or draining and I can resume my normal activities.
