I take 6 MP and I still have times when symptoms are worse. I never have quite understood the meaning of "flare". For me some days Chrohns symptoms are absent and some days they are not. I usually have a few good weeks and a few weeks with more pain and urgent trips to the bathroom. I have had a few blockages (hospitalized) and I think I currently have a partial blockage. Seems to happen about
every six months to a year. I watch what I eat and try to eat low residue food until it passes. If I increased the dosage of 6MP, I might be able to avoid this. However, on higher doses, I just feel wiped out all of the time and I don't want to go through life like that.

I took 6MP for years. Have recently stopped taking it on my own. I don't think it was doing anything. I;m like you, symptoms are very irregular and in my case not severe. I would have a one time bloody BM and then be fine for a week or two. Then all of a sudden BAM! another bloody BM. I have a J-Pouch and if it were not for the doctor insisting this is Crohns, I would think it was simply Pouchitis? Other than joint pain and a non-healing fistula, I don't have any other pain/symptoms. I'm just really tired of taking a poison (6mp) into my body and not really understanding why I'm taking it? Am trying a more holistic approach with diet and exercise. It's been 5 months since I stopped taking the meds. and have not noticed any changes from those above.

Yeah, I'm not really happy about
taking this med, but, if I don't flare this summer like I always do, then I will keep taking it. If I do have my yearly flare, I'll trll my Gi I'm not taking it anymore.
