Crohn's inflammation or pink eye?

I have read some older posts about eye issues with Crohn's, but am not sure whats going on. I have had Crohn's since 2007 and have never had any eye issues, until this morning. I woke up in the night with lots of "goop" in my eyes, watering, red, irritated, but not really hurting, just irritating me. I can't tell if it's pink eye in both eyes, allergies or a Crohn's thing. Of course, it's a Sunday so I can't get into see a dr today unless I go to an ER, but wondering if I should just go straight to an eye dr?

If you've had eye issues with Crohn's, what were the symptoms? How long does it take to clear up? Ugh, this disease is starting to really become a pain in the butt (pun intended). haha Also - I was in a flare until about March of this year, but after having been on 6mp for some time, I'm feeling much much better!

Iritis and/or uveitis are associated with autoimmune diseases such as RA, IBD and ankylosing spondylitis. I have had uveitis twice. There is pain and EXTREME sensitivity to light. Someone with uveitis/iritis cannot withstand the sunlight without dark glasses. Also, I never had "goop" in the eye with my uveitis.

Do you have young children or been around young children lately? They are great transmitters of "pink eye."

If you are having extreme light sensitivity then it is important to get to an ophthalmologist first thing tomorrow.

Hey, when I had problems with my eyes I had goop right at the beginning, then they dried out so bad and the dryness caused itching and irritation. They were so red my mum thought my eyes were bleeding. I was admitted to the hospital cos I had real bad arthritis flare up with it, in the hospital I saw like an optician I guess and he gave me steroid drops (it can get worse without treatment) it cleared up after a while of being on the drops, my mum nicknamed me devil child for a while lol.
I hope it's just pink eye and you feel better ASAP.
