I have Crohns which is not giving me too much trouble.  However I contracted Lyme Disease.  Several years ago I had c diff which was caused by amoxicillin and cured with Vancomycin (Flagyl didn't work) I see a doctor on Monday.  My GI is not in until Tuesday when I have an appointment.

Any thoughts on the safest antibiotic for Lyme.  I'm scared that I will start down a slippery slope.  Thanks

I think you should check with your GI before starting antibiotics so you can choose one that is Crohn's friendly. Maybe your GI and regular doc can consult and decide. You are correct to be concerned about this, but Lyme disease can cause serious problems if left untreated, so you will definitely have to be on something. You may want to add Florastor probiotics, which I believe may have some preventative effects for c.diff. Sorry you are going through this!

Hmmm. I just tried it and it worked. Sorry about that. You might want to do your own internet search. Let us know what you find out from your GI.
