obstruction

I have lost all faith in my GI and PCP because I have been in pain for months and all they did was give me pain pills and do lab work.  I begged them for a CT or X-ray because of the pain in my stomach.  I was also having nausea, vomiting in my mouth, sortness of breath bloated stomach, and not able to pass gas.  This went on for months until it came to a head last week.  I constipated on top of everything else.  I tried stool softners, probiotics, mirylax, and fiber. What I did because they would not help me was to take 3 laxatives for three days. All that happend was water came out.  I gained 6 to 7 pounds in just a few days.  The last day I took the laxative I finally went to the bathroom and it was bad.  I was so ill, still called them and nothing.  To make a long story short they think I had an obstruction and I have a narrowing of my colon.  Since then I have had diarrhea so bad that I had to give stool samples, and I was still nauseated.  Today is my first day of feeling better and I blame it all on the doctors making me fall through the cracks. I should have gone to ER but I was so confused on what to do.  The thing that helped me was this chat room, and I got such good support through the entire ordeal.  So thank you all!

I am not in the hospital now, but everytime I eat today it comes right back up.  I am tired right now and having nausea and cramping.  If it continues I will go down to the hospital.  I think I might be dehydrated becasue my toung is white but it will not come off.  I feel frail right now.

I think an ER trip is in order.

When I had an obstruction (not quite full, but "close" they said), I was in the hospital for 8 days! It was very painful and I was on a liquid diet for weeks. I felt truly awful, as you describe.

I found out because I fainted in the bathroom and went to doctor - they told me it was "nothing" and then diagnosed me with the CT scan - I was driving home when they called and told me to come right back. Sometimes we seem better on the outside than we really are on the inside.

Please be careful, and if you get those symptoms again go to the ER.

Went to the ER yesterday because the diarrhea, nausea, and abdominal pain continues.  The did a CT and it was normal.  One thing they did do was give me sterroids for the CT because I have an allerty to dye.  My joints feel good today.  I am really depressed and don't know what to do.  I hate my life!

I do have Croh's disease and I do not know were.  I have been dealing with this since I was 21 years old.  When I went to the hospital Sunday they gave me sterroids and I felt good (not 100 %) but a little better.  I am going to talk to my dr about putting me on it for awhile.  I go back to work tomorrow hope I still feel better.
