Anyone taking max dosage of humira?

I am going to GI for follow up tomorrow. I know he is going to schedule another colonoscopy to see what is going on. However, I believe he will also move to max dosage of humira. Is that a shot a week or 2shots every two weeks? From theses who had to move to max dosage, did it help? Thanks for input. I want to be prepared for tomorrow's visit.

i don't know what max dose is, but i'm on 40mg/week. it's much better than when i was on every other week, but my symptoms are still not really controlled. more... dampened just enough to let me have a life outside my apartment. not much, but i'm slightly introverted anyway.

I am not sure officially what the max dosage is, I think it is 160 mg a month. Most common I think is 1 40mg shot a week, but some people do 2 shots every other week.

I am on 1 - 40 mg shot per week. It has helped a lot. I still have a mild symptoms, I consider myself 90% well. Helps enough to give me my quality of life back, I don't miss work or have any trouble getting to work and go out with friends. But I do still have minor symptoms, not remission like on Remicade where I was 100% symptom free.

well, I will post a separate update from my visit today. But my GI said some patients do go to 1 shot a week but he has not found it help much more than every other week. but he then said everyone is different and responds differently. My issue is I have already gotten pneumonia when I maxed out on remicade, so he is reluctant to push my system too hard. see my new post

When I was at my worst and not responding to any mediacation including humeria, my doc upped my dosage to 2 shots weekly.  I did that for about 8 months and it put me in remission.

I am currently on 1 shot weekly and I have not been able to lenghthen the time between shots.  I mean who wants that much drug in their body.

But it has given me my life back.

I take 40mg fortnightly but when I had a flare (small) the gastro nurse put me on 40mg every week for 12 weeks which did the trick.
Humira has been a God send for me though,it is the only drug that has actually helped me in over 2 years,and as Karineb said,it has given me life back!
