fever, headaches, flu-like symptoms, what is it?

I have been feeling bad over the last 2 or 3 months. I have a fever every night. It starts in the afternoons and lasts the rest of the evening. When i wake up each morning it is gone but then the cycle continues. I'm itchy and achy in different parts of my body for example last night i had pain in my shoulder and knee. The pain went away but then i was itching my hands until they were bright red. All of this has been slowly getting worse over the last few months and i dont know what exaclty it is. I now have horrible nightsweats most nights (not all). I go to bed freezing and wake up soaking wet. My concentration at work is off and i'm making mistakes i normally would not make.

i went to the walk in because my son was sick so i got checked up at the same time. The walk in doc said it was prob a staph infection but they werent sure. 10 days of antibotics and lots of money later i feel exactly the same. maybe getting a lilttle worse.

any ideas of what this could be? I have a doc appt tomorrow afternoon at the rhemutologist and i would like to have an idea of what is going on. I dont know if this is a bad infection/ virus or related to the crohn's or another autoimmune disease finally showing up?

Please help, I feel like i'm walking around and working with the flu each day.

Low grade reoccurring fevers can be a common symptom of Crohns and can indicate inflammation or an abscess. I would call your dr for sure. Good luck!

Hi Mommy...10 days of antibiotics may not have been enough to kick it out of you if you had a strong infection-and some require the really high test antibiotics. I feel a lot like you mentioned...I am self diagnosing as a c diff infection and flare....I have fevers spike throughout the day, nasty smelly D, bloating and gas like you would not believe. Just plain worn out.

Other than a med reaction that others noted, you might want to get hold of your GI to investigate c diff or other nasty infection

I was on humira then after many doses they decided it wasn't working and I may be allergic to it. I went on remicade for a year but at the end of last year I stopped taking it because the cost would be a lot higher this year with the changes to insurance. I didnt notice that much of a difference to justify the cost. I haven't been to my gi since. I honestly don't know which way o turn or who to go to figure out the puzzle that is my health. I went to the rheumatologist last week and the response was seriously "I don't know, that's weird" they also said that my blood tests are still (1 year later) showing lupus but it doesn't mean I have lupus. Then she said" you are a little skinny (I have been this skinny at every appt Ive been to so far) so ill send you to get checked for Celiac disease and then in 6 months we will check your Ana again." So pretty much ill hear nothing back from them for 6 months. I did look at my chart on the computer and she added fibromyalgia to my chart. She also tried to get me to start taking cymbalta for the pains. And she couldn't explain the rashes that would pop up in one place and then end up in another.
I'm to the point now the daily stomach pain is back. I have joint/muscle pain that hurts then goes away. Then another spot in my body will hurt.
Oh and my rash under my arms that was supposedly a staph infection is back the same and the fatigue is horrible.

So crohn's? Lupus? Staph infection? Fibromyalgia? Etc?

Well, I do know I have Crohn's. I've had stomach pains since I was a kid. After having my kids it was finally diagnosed. I had a colonoscopy almost 2 years ago exactly and it was confirmed. They've been testing me for lupus and to me it looks like I fit many symptoms (more than the 4 they say you should have out f 10), my Ana has been positive for 1.5 years. But they haven't came out and said hey, you have lupus. I was having the weird rashes that I assumed were lupus and/ or inflammation related. And let me tell you, they are weird ones. They go away within 20 mins of coming on. And I was in a doctors office when I started be and they actually told me that doesn't make since. Got to love that.

So I know I have malabsorption, Crohn's, most likely lupus, night sweats, weird rashes that come and go, fever most days in the afternoon, headaches, stomach pains, a very itchy rash under my arms that looks like large mosquito bites, very tired all day no matter if I get 3,8,10 hours of sleep, pains in joints and/or muscles that come and go, dizziness, I could keep going on and on but I'm to tired right now.

But what is causing all of this right now? I just can't get an answer from anyone. I would like to know what would help me work 40 hours a week without feeling like I was hit by a bus.

Btw I'm only 26 years old if that helps any.
