Yes - shortly after my diagnosis (by colonoscopy), my CD seemed to get a LOT worse. I didn't know any better, so I struggled on through all the D and bleeding, assuming it was the disease. I had at least 4 stool samples done over those 6 months, all negative for anything.
It was only when I admitted myself to the hospital and my GI did a colonoscopy that a sample finally came back positive for C-Diff. I can't do Flagyl, so I went on Vancomycin which worked a miracle within a week. I had to remain on the antibiotic for about 2 months to eliminate the c-diff completely though.
