This study shows that flare ups are attributed to heat weaves. Agree. If I can still remember well, all my severest flare ups were in the summer. My current flare up, I think, is caused by the hot weather.

My worst flares have been in July during extended periods of hot weather.

Hi,  I JUST GOT OUT OF THE HOSPITAL A WEEK AGO AND THEY SAID MY FLARE WAS CAUSED BY THE HEAT.  I HAVE NEVER HEARD THAT BEFORE. TAKE CARE EVERYONE. SUE

@ Figsk8. Hope you are better now. I'm surprised that doctors admitted it. We as patients do feel things that our doctors don't express or say. Take good care.

I have had my worst flares in the summer time as well. I wonder if dehydration has anything to do with it? I have a hard time staying hydrated normally, but it is worse in the summer with the hot weather. My GI has also mentioned that he sees more flares in the summer and he attributes it to the fresh fruits and veggies that are more abundant. Either way, interesting article.

I would absolutely believe it.

I feel exhausted when it's hot, sweat after being outside for less than 30 minutes, and generally just feel worse. (And I live in an area where hot is anything above 75/80!)
