Hey guys/girls. My name is eric and have had crohns for passed 15 years. Had a resection in 2008 and flare came back in same spot. They've tried dilating my intestine twice but it's just not lasting. Anyways I have been on every med known to man. And currently on cimzia. Imuno suppressant like remicade and humira. Also tried those. I'm feeling a lot of nausea lately and was wondering if you guys have had experience with it. What can I do I'm the mean time? Help lol

Sorry you are so sick and welcome to HW. Ask your doctor to prescribe Zofran for the nausea...it works well. some unlucky people just don't respond to any medications, and you might need to consider another surgery. Sorry you are going through this!

Thanks gumby. Yes I should ask. I've had zofran when my wife got prescribed it for pregnancy sickness. It was a miracle. Lol. Ill call today and ask. Thanks again.

Hi Eric! Sorry you are suffering. I am getting surgery on Wednesday, so I can understand your reservations for another surgery. Are they looking at another resection? Is the flare from inflammation or scar tissue? Have you tried a Prednisone taper?

I am currently suffering from 2 strictures and inflammation in the TI area. I am getting a strictureplasty on the strictures, as they are caused from scar tissue, and am getting a resection of the TI. This past summer the inflammation in the TI area got out of control and was not responding to anything but prednisone. It has calmed some since starting the pred, but is still present.

I have found that sticking to liquids when in a flare helps the most. I eat things like Orgain, smoothies, and soups. I am also on TPN, which provides nutrients without me needing to eat. I also plan on starting the SCD diet after my surgery to try and maintain remission. Might be worth you looking into it as well. Good luck!

Intestine is constricted again. Same spot as before. I'm on prednisone now and nothing is responding to the meds. So it looks like I need to get this done before I start losing all my body mass. That drives me insane. I work out so hard and eat very well to keep gains and then it happens again. I'm usually 180-185lbs. Right now I'm down to 173. Last surgery it put me below 150. Not only that I don't have disability insurance to pay bills while I'm out. 3 kids is tough to feed when you're not working but ill fig it out thanks to god lol. I'm on cimzia now. It doesn't work that great. I was one of the first to take remicade for Crohn's disease 16 years ago. Then that stopped working. So they put me on humira. That worked for a couple years and now cimzia has stopped working after a couple years tops. I had longer remission time when I hardly took any meds period. I'm leaning towards natural remedies. It's going to be a little bit of an adjustment but everything can be done if you work at it. Also, juicing is great for gastro disease. I'm hoping none of my 3 kids have it. 🙏 Eric, 30 yrs old male from cape cod
