Terminal Ileum Resection & Extreme Bloating/nausea

So this is my first post on the forum. I've had crohn's since 2006 but just recently (about two months ago) had my terminal ileum removed along with a small portion of my large and small intestine (about 14 inches total). I was placed on 6mp and have had one Remecade infusion. I have been off of the 6mp for almost 2 weeks due to extreme nausea that I was having while on it.

Is there anyone on the forum that has had problems with severe bloating after a resection? I'm not talking about just a little uncomfortable bloating, i bloat up to where it is difficult to walk while standing straight up and it looks as if I am pregnant. Not only is it painful, I think its the gas that is making me nauseous. I'm hoping to get a handle on the bloating and nausea soon so that I can get back to life and not feel so crappy while at work.

My son had a resection Feb 2013. He had his terminal ileum, 60% of his colon and appendix removed, along with a fistula repair. about 3 feet total. His bloating lasted for quite awhile. He never looked pregnant though. He never complained of nausea.

I don't want to rain on your parade, just let you know about his experience... He is back to square one. I personally think he has another fistula.

It could be a sign of obstruction or stricturing. There is a risk at the site of resection, while it is healing, that scarring can narrow or even close it off, causing an obstruction. I did this when I had my colon surgery and had to have a dilatation. I agree with CrohnieToo that you should contact your GI and surgeon.
