Lialda+Urinary Incontience/UTIs?

Hi all!

Last you heard from me, I was struggling with doctors. Unfortunately, I am currently doctor-less, but with good reason. I am in the process of getting all the letters/documents to be able to see a doctor at a nearby research hospital!

However, I am now working with a regular GP with some other medical issues, and just wanted to ask a quick question of anyone on Lialda. I've been on Lialda for quite some time now (going on 5 years) and haven't had any issues that I was able to pinpoint to it. However within the past couple months I've been experiencing urinary incontinence. Obviously, my doctor is somewhat uncertain (as tests are showing no issues), and I am seeing a urologist tomorrow. I was also just diagnosed with my second UTI in less than 6 months. However, both UTIs have shown no symptoms, and only showed up as I found blood in my urine once about a week ago. The urinary incontinence has been constant, so they aren't linking the two at this point

So, long story short, I'm wondering if maybe the UTIs and/or incontinence are Lialda related? I'm doing my own research right now, but I want to bring it up to the doctor tomorrow. I will bring up the possible link regardless, but am just curious if anyone else has experienced these issues? Thanks!

I am not experiencing current back pain, and rarely have to strain when having a bowel movement.

No kids either, which is why my doc is sending me over to a urologist. I will definitely share an update!

So, the news is...uncertain?

I will keep updating, just in case it ends up being useful to anyone else, as they're not sure what is happening right now.

Basically, he is saying I don't really have a UTI after all, and that it was likely just some...stuff (? can't remember what he called it) in my urine.

However, I should not be having incontinence issues, and in addition, they did a sonogram of my bladder to see what amount of liquid was in it. It was supposed to be empty, and it was (0%), but I still felt like I had to go. So, I now have to have two tests. One is called a cystoscopy (http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/cystoscopy/MY00140). I can't remember the name of the other, but it involves filling the bladder with liquid to see how it reacts. No. Fun.

At this point, I have no real answers. :( It may or may not be Crohns-related.

The lialda connection is definitely something in my mind right now. I hope it isn't related, but am preparing myself for the possibility, just in case.
