Remicade and sick husband

Has anyone been on remicade with a sick family member. My husband and i decided tonight to sleep in separate beds since he us not feeling well. Is this necessary or are we being overly cautious? My next treatment is Thursday and it will only be my second treatment. I really don't want to get sick before then.

Hi, Have you gotten a flu shot? It is recommended to getting a shot. When your on a TNF blocker drug. Your immune system
is down. I have been getting flu shots since I have been on TNF
blocker drugs.

Good idea - I usually catch all colds my husband has, and the linger and turn into sinus/ear infections.

I got a flu shot, but still was sneezing like crazy. My husband was sick but I didn't get anything. I always use hand sanitizer now all the time. I bite my nails like crazy, and I need to stop bc there is so much infection that is possible with that. I only got one dose of Remicade tho.

You might be being overly cautious, but peace of mind is important too. DO what feels best.

When my daughter was on Remicade she did her best to stay away from sick people, including when everyone got sick in the house, but still continued to go on public transportation and went to school. If she didn't get something major from the biggest breeding ground, elementary school, and public transit, I figure it must be ok. She did pick up more colds, and it took longer to get rid of, but she managed. She was also only on Remicade for 9 months too. Don't now if your immune system gets weaker and weaker the longer you are on it.

I haven't got the flu shot yet because they say 2 weeks before and after an infusion. This is only my second infusion so there isn't enough time between infusions. I will get one as soon as I can though.
