Is the Faecal Calprotectin test really that expensive? Seems like it would be a lot cheaper than colonoscopies and the like; at least NICE seems to think it would cut down on those pesky diagnostic tests!

causes of gut inflammation, eg Crohn's, UC, infectious colitis, or colon cancer. But in IBS there is no gut inflammation, so no elevation of FCP.
