Another skin issue--scaly-ness on the tushy

OK for you folks that have the issues in the tushy area like me or skin issues....any idea on cause or care for this one.  I have a scaly like area on the skin of my butt cheek very near the rectal area.  The closest thing I can describe it is it is like cradle cap on babies.  I actually had this once on my face cheek, but that cheek is not nearly as sensitive!  It itches and I must have unconciously scratched it last night as hubby said I have a long scratch mark there now.  I put neosporin on it (I love that stuff), but trying to come to a conclusion...still thinking my skin may be going wacky due to a virus again...but any one else have ideas?

Thanks Judy....I don't know why my brain was not even considering eczema or psoriasis (Mom had psoriasis horribly).  Maybe I will finally make an appointment with a dermatologist (family history of skin cancer and psoriasis means I really should), but I am avoiding docs for the rest of the year.  Had my first meeting with a rheumatoligist this year that did not do well by me.  I will take this into consideration...thanks for making think another route!

I have an area of scaliness exactly like you describe on my cheek close to my rectum (which I do not have anymore - I have a colostomy). I get it when I have my Remicade treatments. I treat it with Cortisone cream and it goes away.
