MRI Enterography Results

Just thought I'd share - I was amazed they posted the results so fast.



Visualized portions of the lung bases are grossly clear.

Bowel: There is moderate wall thickening diffuse enhancement of the distal
duodenum and jejunum. There is moderate concentric wall thickening and
enhancement of the rectum. A 1.3 cm region of the anterior border of the
rectum demonstrates loss of normal fat plane with contiguous enhancement of
the rectal wall and vagina, likely site of fistula. No focal fluid
collection. No obstruction or fistula.


Abdomen: No cystic or enhancing mass of the liver, pancreas or kidneys.
The gallbladder is not visualized. No intra or extra hepatic biliary
ductal dilatation.

Pelvis: The urinary bladder is normally distended without wall thickening.
The uterus is normal in appearance. No adnexal mass.

No gross acute bony abnormalities appreciated.

Impression:
1. Transmural inflammation of the rectum. Small area of loss of fat
between the rectum and vagina likely represents known rectovaginal fistula.
No fluid collection.
2. Transmural inflammation of the distal duodenum and jejunum.



Doctor Comments:
Your MRE definitely does show some inflammation of the rectal and vaginal area consistent with the rectovaginal fistula; It also shows inflammation higher up in 2 parts of the small bowel in the duodenum and jejunum which was surprisinf to me since most of your inflammation has been lower in the GI tract - It did not show any other fistulas or strictures in the bowel though.

Just be careful with that stuff, Sixteen months ago I stopped taking Remicade due to the memory loss from taking it and I'm Still nowhere near what i was before taking it. I'm 55 with memory lapses of someone who is much older or has MS. Your'e much to young to go that route. Anything weird, stop the Remicade. There are times that I wish I never took it, now. I just hope you find a solution soon.

I feel kinda stupid asking this.... you say they posted the results quickly, do you mean they mailed those results to you? Or you got them some other way..?
